A Guide for First-Time Clients

Curious what happens during a Reiki session?
Many of our clients come in not knowing what to expect and leave feeling more grounded, clear, and supported in themselves.
Here’s a gentle, step-by-step guide to what you can expect, what you may feel, and how Reiki sessions work, whether in person or online.
What Happens During a Reiki Session?
If you’ve been thinking about booking a Reiki session but feel unsure what to expect, you’re not alone.
Many people come in feeling curious, and a little hesitant, simply because it’s something new.
This guide is here to walk you through the experience in a clear, grounded way so you can feel comfortable, informed, and supported.
Before Your Session Begins
We start with a brief conversation.
You’re welcome to share what’s been on your mind, how you’ve been feeling, or what you’d like support with, or you can simply come in and settle into the space.
There’s no pressure to explain everything or have the “right” intention.
Your session meets you where you are.
Getting Comfortable
You’ll remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on a massage table (or sit, if that feels better for you).
We make sure you’re supported with pillows, blankets, and a calm, quiet environment so your body can begin to settle.
For online sessions, you’ll be in your own space, lying down or seated somewhere comfortable.

During the Reiki Session
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands just above the body) energy practice.
Light hand placements are used around the body, or hands may hover just above, always with your comfort in mind.
There’s no pressure, no force, and nothing you need to “do.”
Your only role is to allow yourself to settle and receive.
Each session flows intuitively, meaning it’s guided by what your body and energy need in that moment, not a fixed routine.
What You Might Feel
Every experience is different.
Some people notice:
Warmth or gentle waves of sensation
Tingling or subtle movement
A deep sense of relaxation
Emotional release or quiet clarity
Others simply feel calm — or even fall asleep.
All of these experiences are normal.
There is no right or wrong way to receive Reiki.
🌿 Ready to experience this for yourself?
If you’re feeling curious or ready to try, you’re welcome to book a session.
After the Session
At the end of your session, you’ll have time to slowly come back and reorient.
Many people feel:
Grounded
Clear
Rested
Lighter or more settled
You’re encouraged to drink water, take things gently, and allow your body space to process.
Optional Insights
After the session, I may share any intuitive impressions that came through.
This might include patterns, images, or areas of focus that appeared during your session.
Everything is offered gently, with no pressure, you’re always invited to take what resonates and leave the rest.
